Mr Peter Merry, MRPharmS, has been appointed as a non-executive director of Eastbourne Hospitals NHS trust until November, 2003. Mr Merry is a freelance health journalist and was formerly editor of the Health Service Journal.
Ms Lara Otunla, MRPharmS, and Ms Georgia Michael, MRPharmS, were runners-up in the Shell Live Wire young business start-up awards for London. Their business, The Olde Pharmacy Ltd, at Wandsworth, London, opened in February, 1999.
