From Mr D. N. Sharpe, FRPharmS
SIR,-I do not know Mr Gould (PJ, June 10, p880) and, consequently, I do not know in which field of pharmacy he practises, although from the content of his letter, community pharmacy seems to be the most likely.
I have read the letter columns consistently for over 40 years and I regard myself as reasonably well-read and cultured, but I have never read such a pretentiously written letter in my life.
He describes his contents as "philosophical musings". I would describe the contents as the first pharmaceutical entry for "Pseuds' corner".
Finally, if he does practise in the community does he speak to his customers and patients in the same way that he writes?
