From Mr P. Walton, MRPharmS
SIR,-I was interested in your article entitled "Pack restrictions cut paracetamol overdoses" (PJ, June 17, p900). I wonder how many people threw themselves off bridges, or similar, due to extreme frustration at trying to obtain reasonable quantities of this drug for chronic illness? Thirty-two tablets represents four days' treatment for one person, or one day's treatment for a family of four, and even so, there are some pharmacists refusing to supply more than this, no matter what the circumstances are.
