Entries are being invited for a "Visions of science" photographic competition which is open to both professional and amateur photographers in separate categories.
Photographs must have been taken in the past two years old and can cover any aspect of science. What matters, the organisers say, is that the images depict the power of science and the positive impact it can have on people's lives.
Photographs can be entered in four categories: professional; amateur; health care worker; and under 25-years of age. In each of the three amateur categories, the prizes are a £700 digital camera and two £80 APS cameras. For professionals, the first prize is a £4,000 digital camera. Only colour transparencies and digital images can only be submitted. Details are available from Visions of Science (tel 020 7613 5577, e-mail visions-of-science@ksaevents.com, internet www.visions-of-science.co.uk).
