Ciba Vision (UK) is changing the carbomer 940 in its Viscotears liquid gel 10g, for dry eye treatment, to carbomer 980, in accordance with European Union regulations. The company says that the carbomer 980 formulation has been approved by the Medicines Control Agency as equivalent in clinical efficacy and safety to the original formulation.
