Pharmalife launched

Pharmalife, an online information and procurement business for European pharmacists, launched its information service for British pharmacists on June 26.
The internet company, which aims to provide information targeted at the day-to-day needs of pharmacists, is intending to build an information and trading platform for pharmacy in Europe.
It sees the launch of www.pharmalife.co.uk as the first step in becoming an online information and procurement backbone for pharmacists in Britain.
Initially, the site offers five sections - news, jobs, events, forum and a library.

Pharmalife wants to be more than an on-line market-place

A second service, www.tradepharm.co.uk, intended to provide the company's on-line market-place, is expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2000.
Mr Musa Dhalla (Pharmalife's founder and chief executive) told The Journal on June 26 that pharmacies would be able to
access product catalogues from a range of suppliers covering generic prescription medicines and over-the-counter medicines. Pharmacies would be able to trade unsold capacity among themselves.
Mr Dhalla added that his plan was for the company to be more than just an on-line market-place. It wanted to be the default online resource for pharmacists.
It had been developed by pharmacists mindful of the needs of the pharmacy community.
