Mr Douglas Simpson, FRPharmS, editor of The Pharmaceutical Journal and editorial director of PJ Publications, is to retire from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society on September 1.
Mr Douglas Skeeles, MRPharmS who was made MBE for services to the community in the 2000 new year's honours list (PJ, January 15, p84) was presented with his medal by the Queen on June 13 in the presence of his wife, son and daughter. Mr Skeeles is managing director of a family business which runs five pharmacies in the Bristol area. The award recognised his long service on voluntary organisations in Long Ashton, Bristol.
