SIR,-I have been almost 62 years on the Register and from my student associate days from 1933 I have been an avid reader of the correspondence columns of your journal.
I have just returned from holiday. As usual, almost my first pleasure was to sort the copies of the PJ from a vast mass of mail, junk and otherwise, and turn to the correspondence columns - after the obituaries.
I would like to congratulate Mr Gould on his letter (PJ, June 10, p880) and to record the fact that I was obliged to consult the dictionary more times while reading it than I have needed to do in reading countless thousands over the past 67 years.
