New £3.5m research centre for Belfast

The school of pharmacy at Queen's University, Belfast, is to build a £3.5m pharmaceutical research centre with funding from the founder of Galen Holdings Plc, Dr Allen McClay.
The new McClay research centre will be built alongside the school's existing buildings and will house laboratories and teaching facilities. It is expected to open in September, 2001.
Dr Clay established a charitable trust for the schools of pharmacy and chemistry at Queen's university after floating Galen on the stock market in 1997.
