Mr John Miskelly, MRPharmS, was made MBE in the Queen's birthday honours list. Mr Miskelly graduated from Heriot-Watt university, Edinburgh, in 1961 and worked for West Cumberland Farmers Ltd and United Scottish Farmers Ltd before joining North Eastern Farmers Ltd in 1974. He retired in 1990. In 1995, he took up the position of area secretary for Aberdeen and Kincardine at the National Farmers Union of Scotland and became a regional organiser last year.
Mr Malcolm Fowler, MRPharmS, retired as operations director of L'Oréal Australia on July 3. Mr Fowler emigrated to Australia in 1973 as manufacturing manager for Fisons and joined L'Oréal in 1982 as general manager of its manufacturing division.
