Atorvastatin (Lipitor) has become the best-selling statin worldwide, Pfizer announced recently.
The lipid lowering drug has been available since 1996 and was most recently approved in Japan. It is now marketed in 70 countries.
In the UK, Merck Sharp & Dohme's Zocor (simvastatin) is still market leader.
