SIR,-When I returned from holiday and caught up on the The Pharmaceutical Journal, David Sharpe's letter (PJ, June 17, p915) made me look back to that of John Gould the previous week (p880).
I can only assume that Mr Gould's prose was written tongue in cheek - if not I think it is a great pity that among his choice of words he did not select the right one to illustrate his scenario.
I suspect a customer beginning to experience symptoms of hypoglycaemia would be better served by referral to the cafeteria than being supplied with glibenclamide.
