Professor Stella O'Donnell, FRPharmS, has been made Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for services to the community and to the advancement of pharmaceutical science, particularly in the field of pharmacology, and to research and development in relation to asthma therapy. Professor O'Donnell is professor of pharmacology at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. She is a fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and a past-president of the Queensland branch of that society. She is currently chairman of the Australian government's therapeutic goods committee.
Mr Gerry Diamond, MRPharmS, has been appointed as City of Manchester council's representative on South Manchester community health council. Mr Diamond is Labour councillor for Hulme and Moss Side.
