"Square" industrial teacher-practitioner

The School of Pharmacy, London university, has appointed a teacher-practitioner in pharmaceutical research and development.
Dr Gavin Magee, who works for Glaxo Wellcome, will spend one day a week at the School of Pharmacy.
A statement issued on July 21 said that Glaxo Wellcome would benefit from being more aware of what the school could offer, while the school hoped to benefit from an increased understanding of the pharmaceutical industry's needs as both a potential collaborator and a potential employer.
Professor Sandy Florence (dean, School of Pharmacy) said: "This initiative not only allows undergraduates the benefit of contact with a pharmacist who works in industry but will also provide opportunities for students to spend time on projects within the company."
