Sure-lax senna

Sure-lax senna raspberry-flavoured tablets, for relief from constipation, are to be launched by Peter Black Healthcare (retail price, 36 £1.99). The product contains sennosides (as standardised calcium sennosides 60 per cent) 15mg. Adults and children over 10 years should chew one tablet at bedtime (not more than one in any 24 hours). The company says that Sure-lax senna is not recommended during pregnancy and should not be used in cases of intestinal obstruction, inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal pain of unknown origin or during dehydration. A doctor should be consulted first if medication is being taken for heart problems, blood pressure or if taking any steroid-based medication, says the company.
