Volunteer stewards sought for London Open House weekend

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society's museum is looking for volunteer stewards to help on Saturday, September 23, when its headquarters building is to be opened to the public as part of London Open House weekend.
Guided tours of the architectural highlights of the Society's 1970s headquarters building will run every half hour between 1 and 5pm (last tour at 4.30pm). Visitors will also be able to inspect displays from the Society's museum collection and take in the view from the fifth floor roof terrace.
Museum staff will lead the tours, but volunteer stewards are needed to help manage the event and shepherd groups round the building. Interested members are asked to contact the Museum Office (tel 020 7735 9141 ext 354) for details.
London Open House weekend is an annual celebration of the capital's architecture, offering the public the chance to see behind the doors of hundreds of Government, business and private premises that are usually closed to the public. The Society has taken part since 1998. (Further information about the event is available from the London Open House 2000 website at www.londonopenhouse.org.)
