Welsh Executive

Chairman re-elected as three new members join executive

Mr Colin Ranshaw has been elected to serve a third term as chairman of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Welsh Executive. Mrs Andrea Robinson has been elected vice-chairman.
At its meeting on July 19, the executive also elected Mr Robert Gartside, Mr Peter Jenkins, Mr Peter Jones and Dr David Temple to serve on its public affairs working group. The executive's chairman and vice-chairman would continue to be members of the group, which would be chaired by the executive's vice-chairman.
In the annual election of four members of the Welsh Executive, only one of the four retiring executive members, Mr Robert Gartside, was returned to the executive. The three new members are Mr Andrew Hales, a proprietor pharmacist in Cardiff, Mr Peter Jones, manager of the Boots the Chemists branch in Carmarthen, and Miss Karen Worrall, a hospital pharmacist in Llanelli. They succeed Mr Terry Turner, who chose not to seek re-election, and Mr Roger Jones and Mr Kenneth Rew, who were unsuccessful in the election. Mr Roger Jones had been vice-chairman of the executive for 1999-2000.
