Adgyn tablets

Strakan is launching a range of oestrogen and progestogen tablets: Adgyn Estro, Adgyn Combi and Adgyn Medro tablets. Adgyn Estro (17-ß estradiol 2mg) film-coated tablets are indicated for treatment of climacteric symptoms following oophorectomy or naturally occurring menopause. One tablet should be taken each day of the 28-day treatment cycle (net price, 28 £1.56). Adgyn Combi calendar packs, for treatment of climacteric symptoms for women with an intact uterus, include 16 17-ß estradiol 2mg (white) tablets and 12 pink tablets containing 17-ß estradiol 2mg and norethisterone 1mg (net price, 28 £2.84). One tablet should be taken daily for a treatment cycle of 28 days. Menstruating women should take the first tablet on the fifth day of menstrual bleeding. If menstruation has stopped, is infrequent or sporadic, the first tablet can be taken at any time. Adgyn Medro (medroxyprogesterone acetate 5mg) tablets are indicated for dysfunctional uterine bleeding, secondary amenorrhoea, mild to moderate endometriosis. Also for cyclical progestogen therapy as an adjunct to oestrogen replacement during or after the menopause in women with intact uteri (net price, 14 £1.50, 28 £3.01).
