Independent community pharmacists are seeking more advice about running their businesses, according to independent wholesaler Mawdsley-Brooks & Co Ltd. As a result, the company is planning to expand its team of consultants.
The company's retail team is currently advising more than 50 independent pharmacies on a range of retail issues. Many of the inquiries were received during its recent trade show.
Mr Tony Gentle (retail consultant, Mawdsley-Brooks) said: "Most independents now realise that they are professional pharmacists and not necessarily professional retail specialists. Those who have invested in guidance from specialists are now reaping the rewards."
