From Mr D. Stone
SIR,-As a Saturday junior pharmacy assistant in my local pharmacy I read with interest your leading article on pharmacies needing websites (PJ, July 22, p115).
Young people understand the importance of websites and it is important for small community pharmacy proprietors to embrace this new technology before it is too late.
I agree with you that a suitable domain name is important. The professionalism of the pharmacist is not demonstrated if e-mails are sent from free e-mail addresses. In fact, certain mail servers will filter out this type of mail and it will not reach the recipient.
Domain names are inexpensive and once the domain name is purchased it remains the purchaser's property, just like a company name. I would strongly advise pharmacists to purchase a suitable domain name, for example, www.yourpharmacy.co.uk, now, before someone else does.
