Hull PDG wins funds for practice research

The Hull and East Riding pharmacy development group has been awarded funding of £125,000 over three years from the National Health Service Executive to establish a pharmacy practice research scheme for community pharmacists.
Mrs Hilary Edmondson, project manager for the scheme, told The Journal on August 8 that the funding would be used to pay for a community pharmacist to work one day per week to set up and manage the scheme. The pharmacy practice research scheme would be based at Hull's primary care development centre, alongside existing medical and nursing research schemes.
In addition, the funding would be used to allow community pharmacists to attend research training courses and to fund individual research projects.
