From Mr M. T. Bland, MRPharmS
SIR,-It appears that, in the eyes of companies such as Boehringer Ingelheim, some pharmacists are considered more worthy of receiving product information from the company than others.
Boehringer has recently written to all general practitioners, pharmaceutical advisers and practice advisers, and at least some hospital colleagues, to advise of the pending withdrawal of Alupent and Berotec inhalers at the end of 2000 because of a ban on CFC inhaler manufacture in Germany and advising on product replacement by that time.
It did not consider sharing this information with community pharmacists or even to distribute details to publications such as the PJ in order that we could be informed through your pages.
