NHS job advertising to go on-line

The National Health Service is to launch its own jobs website in the spring of next year. Advertisements carried by the Guardian on August 14 and to be included in the Health Service Journal for August 19 invite applications from organisations with experience of online recruitment to submit proposals based on a briefing document available on the internet (www.doh.gov.uk/purchasing.tenders.htm). The government's aim is that all NHS vacancies in England will be advertised on the website. A Department of Health press release issued on August 11 says that a feasibility scheme is already under way to see if job descriptions and application forms can be provided online.
