Boots the Chemists has applied for planning permission to provide dental and chiropody services at its branch at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, in a move that may result in the company opening its second National Health Service walk-in centre.
A Boots spokeswoman (Ms Priscilla Dawson) confirmed on August 23 that preliminary talks had also taken place with the local primary care group.
"We are at a very early stage," she said. "It would be wrong to overestimate how far those talks have gone."
Boots opened one of England's first walk-in centres at a Birmingham branch earlier this year (PJ, March 4, p355).
