Set out below is a list of health promotion events for the next four months. The contact organisation for each can provide further information and, in many cases, nearer the event, resources such as leaflets and posters.
Information for the events was provided by the Health Education Authority (HEA). Two organisations, Health Promotion England (HPE) and the Health Development Agency, have taken over the roles of the HEA.
HPE will run public education and health promotion programmes in England. HPE can be contacted at 50 Eastbourne Terrace, London W2 3QR (tel 020 7725 2880). The HPE website (www.hpe.org.uk) is currently in development.
Some HEA leaflets may still be available (see below) and the Pharmacy Healthcare Scheme (PHS) can also provide leaflets for some of the events, as indicated.

World mental health day The mental health programme, including world mental health day, was run by the HEA. The campaign is currently under review by the Department of Health. The HEA is no longer in existence (see above) but old leaflets developed by the HEA may still be available.
A review of former HEA titles is underway and new resources are currently being developed by HPE. Until the review is complete, old stocks of HEA leaflets that are still available may be obtained through local health authority health promotion units in England. Similar titles are available from health authorities/health boards in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Some HEA resources can be ordered in larger quantities through Marston Book Services (tel 01235 465 565) until stocks are exhausted. For further information about resources, contact HPE.
