A report, "Current perspectives on paediatric parenteral nutrition", has been published by the British Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN). The report discusses indications for treatment, nutrient requirements, pharmaceutical considerations, advice on the practical administration of solutions both short term and long term, and advice on detecting and treating complications which can arise from long-term parenteral treatment. The report also includes sections on laboratory monitoring in hospital and the organisation of home parenteral nutrition.
