Boots produces "generic" pharmacy television ads

The Boots Co is to launch a television advertising campaign on September 6 which is intended to raise awareness of the role of pharmacists and the advice they can provide on health issues.
The advertisements, which will be on air from September 6 to October 8, show cameos of different circumstances in which people consult a pharmacist on health issues, including pregnancy, pain management, first aid, chronic conditions, drug abuse, contraception, giving up smoking, and the menopause.
In a statement on August 24, Mr Digby Emson (superintendent pharmacist, Boots the Chemists) said: "Pharmacists can provide advice, help and solutions on health care issues at every stage in peoples' lives. Six million people visit a pharmacy in the UK every week in order to get on the spot advice in a friendly and familiar environment. We want to raise awareness of the role of pharmacists through this advertisement."
The television campaign will be supported by a leaflet "Advice, help and solutions from your Boots pharmacy", window displays and in-store point of sale materials. There is also to be a consumer press campaign, with questions and answers on popular health topics including smoking cessation, headlice and the menopause.
