APS Berk is the first company to join the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee's community pharmacy development sponsorship programme (PJ, March 25, p484).
Mr Michael King (head of professional development, PSNC) told The Journal on August 29 that the PSNC hoped to raise £825,000 over three years to bolster funds raised from local pharmaceutical committees through the LPC levy. The PSNC would use the money to provide additional services for local pharmaceutical committees and contractors, he said.
In return, APS Berk would receive invitations to the PSNC's annual dinner, the annual conference of local pharmaceutical committee representatives and would have links from the PSNC website. The company's logo would also appear on PSNC publications and APS Berk would have input into the PSNC's training programme.
