Positive Solutions Ltd has launched a version of its Analyst pharmacy software program which combines patient medication records and electronic point of sale systems in one package.
The company says that the combined system will allow counter assistants to enter identification data for patients when prescriptions are handed in for dispensing, thus saving pharmacists' time. The system supports customer loyalty cards which can speed up identification.
In a typical set up with one medicines counter and one dispensary touchscreen, both EPoS and PMR data can be viewed at either screen. The company says that this will allow pharmacists to use PMR records if they are counselling patients at the counter or to review EPoS data in the dispensary. The linked system is able to check for interactions between dispensed medicines and pharmacy medicines sold over the counter. Additional dispensary or counter screens can be added as necessary.
