Dotcoms co-operate on online health care

An online pharmacy (www.allcures.com) and an online medical consultation service (www.e-med.co.uk) have joined forces to facilitate the provisionof consultation, diagnosis, prescribing and dispensing services over the internet.
In a statement on September 4, Allcures said that this meant that private prescriptions could now be obtained and dispensed wherever anyone lived, provided they had access to a computer and the world-wide web.
Mr Jai Cheema (chief executive, Allcures.com) told The Journal on September 5 that the companies had co-operated on the development of protocols for the transmission of electronic prescriptions over the internet.
Paper prescriptions would still be necessary to meet legal requirements and patients would be able to choose where to have them dispensed, he added.
