Sterwin Medicines has recalled the following batches of atenolol tablets, pack size 28, as a precautionary measure: 25mg, batch number A002, expiry date, February, 2003; 50mg batches A005, A006, A007, expiry date, January, 2003; 100mg batches A005, A006, expiry date, February, 2003 and A007, expiry date, March, 2003. This is because the company has received a report that a pack of atenolol tablets contained a patient information leaflet for Sterwin's cimetidine tablets. There is a possibility that further batches might be similarly affected. Recipients are requested to quarantine stock and return it to their supplier for credit.
