The Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Academy of Pharmaceutical Scientists is seeking nominations for two annual awards recognising achievement in the pharmaceutical sciences - the Glaxo Wellcome international achievement award and the Astra Zeneca industrial achievement award.
The Glaxo Wellcome award recognises substantial advancements in the application of scientific knowledge within the pharmaceutical sciences. It is open to researchers or small teams in academia, industry, public service or any other scientific establishment.
The Astra Zeneca award is given for outstanding contributions to either the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences or services to the pharmaceutical industry, with emphasis on benefit for patients or customers. All pharmaceutical scientists and technologists working in the pharmaceutical industry or the regulatory process are eligible.
Each award consists of a cheque for £1,000 together with reimbursement of expenses for attendance at the British Pharmaceutical Conference in 2001 for the successful applicants to give lectures.
The closing date for both awards is October 31.
