The Young Pharmacists Group has described the plan for pharmacy in the
National Health Service in England announced at the British Pharmaceutical Conference
last week (p384)
as positive.
In a statement on September 18, Mr Andrew Buxton (president, YPG) said: For
the first time, the Government has listened to pharmacists and come back with
a positive plan which will change the face of pharmacy as we know it. The YPG
has long called for many of the new roles and responsibilities included in the
plan to be given to pharmacists.
The YPG view is that the plan contains many opportunities and a few threats.
It says that the profession should embrace the whole plan and ensure that it
focused on patients. The Government would accept nothing less.
