Go on local radio, urges banquet speaker

Community pharmacists should consider appearing on local radio programmes in order to boost their profile, Dr Ed Doolan (presenter, BBC Radio WM) told the Conference banquet on September 11.
“Let me tell you something useful. As a radio presenter I have found that your profession is neither hated nor loved. People do not telephone my show to tell me that you are the best, but neither do they call to say you are the worst.
“You need to be more proactive. Make yourself known to your local radio station. It will not hurt your business. You will be able to raise the profile of yourself and your profession. Local radio stations are talking to the public every day and they want you to appear.”
Dr Doolan’s comments were backed by the President of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (Mrs Christine Glover) in her address to the banquet. “We need to raise our profile in every way that we can,” she said.
