Point, AAH Pharmaceuticals Ltd’s newest warehouse, located near the centre
of Birmingham (PJ, September 18, 1999, p413),
is now fully operational. Mr Ian Reekie, branch manager, told The Journal during
a recent press visit that the warehouse was currently processing 1,500 order
boxes per hour against a capacity of 2,500 per hour.
Service levels, measured as a percentage of orders supplied in full as ordered,
had risen from 90 per cent on first opening in March to 97 per cent. Almost
all of the staff at Nexus Point were new recruits to the company. The error
rate in picking orders had fallen to 0.34 per cent and the aim was to halve
this, Mr Reekie said.
