Statutory committee

THE Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN, on Tuesday, October 10, at 10am to hear (1) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a superintendent pharmacist, the company and two pharmacists which alleges that a lack of adequate systems to ensure that medicines returned from patients were not placed with dispensary stock, resulting in a medicine which had been returned being dispensed to another patient, amounts to misconduct; and (2) an application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed from the register.
The Committee will further meet on Wednesday, October 11, at 10am, to hear (3) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council of the Society against a pharmacist which includes allegations that the pharmacist’s conduct as a practising doctor damaged public confidence in the pharmacist as a professional giver of health care and that the pharmacist’s erasure from the medical register is evidence of unfitness to be registered as a member of a health care profession and amounts to misconduct.
The Committee will further meet on Thursday, October 12, at 10am, to hear (4) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of theft; and (5) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of supplying a medicinal product not of the nature and quality specified in the prescription; and (6) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of theft.
