The licensed indications for Eisai’s Pariet (rabeprazole) tablets has been extended. Pariet is additionally licensed in combination with appropriate antibacterial therapeutic regimens for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcer disease. The following combination, given for seven days, is recommended: Rabeprazole 20mg twice daily, clarithromycin 500mg twice daily and amoxicillin 1g twice daily. The following statement has been added to the interactions section: “Rabeprazole does not adversely influence plasma concentrations of amoxicillin or clarithromycin when co-administered for the purpose of eradicating upper gastrointestinal H pylori infection.
