From Mr K. J. E. Field, MRPharmS
SIR,I refer to the letter from Mr Hopkins (PJ, September 23, p444)
and I am in complete agreement with his letter detailing the extreme difficulties
experienced by we youngsters of 80-years-plus in accessing our medication, and,
additionally, the problem of reading the patient information leaflets.
The current practice of using designer colours on packs and instruction
inserts makes it impossible for me to read these when, for example, the text
is printed in red on an orange coloured background.
It makes a pretty pattern I agree, but to me the words are invisible. Whatever
happened to plain black on white?
