Canadian, not American

From Mr S. Pickard

SIR,—As a practising community pharmacist and PhD candidate at the University of Alberta in Canada, I enjoy reading your publication for a British perspective on pharmacy practice-based issues as well as for the reporting of research that is relevant to pharmacy. I was delighted to see the article about the successful islet cell transplantation by researchers at the University of Alberta (PJ, August 12, p224), for which Dr Shapiro’s team has received international attention. However, imagine my disappointment when the headline attributed this discovery to US scientists. They are Canadian scientists, continuing a tradition of innovation in diabetes that began with the discovery of insulin.
