SIR,—I understand that one of the reasons that Mr Douglas Simpson took early retirement from the position of editor of The Journal was because of his concern that control of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society was now largely in the hands of non-pharmacists. I note that the Society is now inviting non-pharmacists to apply for the vacancy that he created. Congratulations — that is a very astute way of ensuring that we do not have similar grounds for resignation in the future!
