Evans Vaccines has recalled all batches of its polio-
myelitis vaccine, live (oral), as a precautionary measure. The packaging is
in the company livery of Evans or Medeva. This is because part of this particular
vaccine was manufactured using a growth medium containing material from UK-sourced
bovine origin (see p638). Stocks should not be used and will be collected by
Farillon. A replacement vaccine will be supplied by Smith Kline Beecham, which
was confirmed to have been manufactured using non-UK sourced foetal calf serum.
