From Dr G. B. Drummond, MRPharmS
SIR,Like many of your readers, I was appalled to learn that the Royal
Pharmaceutical Societys Council could even entertain the idea of a non-pharmacist
editor of The Pharmaceutical Journal.
While a good case could be made out for maintaining the tested tradition of
160 years on purely professional or ethical grounds or, in other words, because
pharmaceutical blood is thicker than the water of mere commerce, the matter
involves also many practical issues.
These have been admirably described by Mr Robert Blyth (PJ, October 28, p652)
whose voice is one of authority and experience.
I share the view of many of your correspondents in refusing to believe that
there is not, among the membership of our Society, some worthy incumbent waiting
in the wings.
