SIR,—You recently published a recall notice for two batches of Locorten-Vioform
ear drops (PJ, October 14, p586)
with instructions to return relevant items to the supplier. Dutifully, I forwarded
one pack to my wholesaler, which returned it as an unauthorised return. My follow-up
telephone call established that my wholesaler was unaware of such a recall.
The manufacturer asked me to forward the pack to it direct, stating that only
35 packs had been returned. I wonder why there have been so few.
In case anyone missed the notice, the batch numbers are L80003 (expiry date
September, 2003) and L90004 (expiry date August, 2004).
