THE Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN, on Tuesday, November 14, at 10am to hear (1) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of theft and attempted theft. There is in addition a complaint by the Council of the Society alleging that a dispensing error made while the pharmacist was in charge amounts to misconduct. The committee will also hear (2) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of an offence resulting from failure to comply with regulations made under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Wednesday, November 15, at 10am to hear (3) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of theft; and (4) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of fraud. There is in addition a complaint by the Council of the Society which includes allegations that practices in the pharmacy resulting in prescriptions being submitted to the Prescription Pricing Authority for medicines which had either not been supplied to patients or had not been supplied in the quantities claimed amount to misconduct. The committee will also hear (5) an application for variation of a direction given by the committee under Section 8(1) of the Pharmacy Act 1954.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Thursday, November 16, at 10am to resume (6) an inquiry adjourned from August 16, 2000, relating to allegations of misconduct against a superintendent pharmacist and company.
