New indication for Caelyx

The licensed indications for Schering-Plough’s Caelyx (doxorubicin 2mg/ml) concentrate for infusion have been extended. Caelyx is now additionally licensed for the treatment of “advanced ovarian cancer in women who have failed a first-line platinum-based chemotherapy regimen”. For this indication Caelyx is administered intravenously at a dose of 50mg/m2 once every four weeks for as long as the disease does not progress and the patient continues to tolerate treatment. See SPC for details on administration and reconstitution.
