Birdsgrove House to open at Christmas

Guests enjoying Birdsgrove House seasonal hospitality last year

Over the Christmas and New Year holiday period, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s convalescent home, Birdsgrove House, is to open its doors to all pharmacists — not just those in need of convalescence. The decision to open on this basis follows the success of a similar scheme last year.
This year the house is offering a choice of two five-day packages, each of which costs £230. The Christmas package runs from Friday, December 22, to Wednesday, December 27, and the New Year package from Friday, December 29, to Wednesday, January 3, 2001. Because of the way the weekends fall, this year’s packages are a day longer than last year’s (hence the higher cost).
Anyone interested in taking advantage of either package should contact Sue Smith, Administrator, Birdsgrove House, Mayfield, Ashbourne, Derbyshire DE6 2BN (tel 01335 342144; fax 01335 347030).
The house remains open throughout the rest of the year for the use of members of the Society who are in need of convalescence. Wives or husbands of members are also eligible for admission, as are former members and, when room is available, parents of pharmacists.
