SSPPH election The Scottish Specialists in Pharmaceutical Public Health group (formerly the Scottish Chief Administrative Pharmaceutical Officers Group) has re-elected Mr Scott Bryson as chairman and Mr Edward Mallinson as secretary for 2001. In addition, Mr Lyndon Braddick has been elected vice-chairman.

Oshwal donations The Oshwal Pharmacists group held its 20th annual ball recently. During the evening presentations were made to charities of monies collected during the group's annual charity walk in June. Brace received £4,000 to buy equipment for research into Alzheimer's disease, Get Kids Going received £4,000 to buy sports equipment for disabled children and the Prostate Cancer Charity received £4,000 to buy a polymerase chain reaction machine. A raffle raised £250 for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Benevolent Fund and £500 for the Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association's Pharmaid scheme. Cheques for these were presented to the Society's President (Mrs Christine Glover).
