THE Statutory Committee will meet at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, 1 Lambeth High Street, London SE1 7JN at on Monday, December 11, 2000, at 10am to hear (1) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of theft and (2) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of an offence contrary to S64 of the Medicines Act 1968.
The Committee will also hear (3) an inquiry into a pharmacist convicted of driving while under the influence of alcohol. There is, in addition, a complaint by the Council of the Society which alleges that the pharmacist's inability to discharge his professional duties while engaged as a locum amounts to misconduct.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Tuesday, December 12, 2000, at 10am, to hear (4) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council against a pharmacist which includes allegations that the pharmacist's failure to have adequate procedures in place to ensure that sales of restricted medicines were not made in the absence of a pharmacist amounts to misconduct.
The Committee will also hear (5) an application for restoration from a person whose name has been removed from the register.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Wednesday, December 13, 2000, at 2pm, to hear (6) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting, (7) an inquiry into the case of a pharmacist convicted of theft and possession of a class A Controlled Drug and (8) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council against a pharmacist which includes allegations that dispensing errors made by the pharmacist and the pharmacist's conduct and mode of dress amounts to misconduct.
The Statutory Committee will further meet on Thursday, December 14, 2000, at 10am, to hear (9) an inquiry into a complaint by the Council against a pharmacist, a superintendent pharmacist and a company which includes allegations that the continuance of an inherently risk prone and illegal system involving the supply of prescription only medicines, including Controlled Drugs, on the order of hospice staff and before prescriptions were received at the pharmacy authorising such supply amounts to misconduct.
