The Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists has launched an award of £3,500 for the best piece of research into the effectiveness of hospital pharmacy.
Mrs Helen Remington (president of the guild) announced the launch at the guild's day conference in Birmingham on December 1, saying that the idea behind the award was to collate ongoing research into a
nation-wide reference source for use by hospital pharmacists. A significant amount of research that showed the value, effectiveness and efficiency of hospital pharmacy was currently only publicised in individual trusts or departments or, at best, at conferences or study days, she said.
