The Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) officially opened its refurbished headquarters building at 18 Shrewsbury Road, Dublin, on November 21. The building, which dates back to the early 20th century, was home to the PSI and its associated school of pharmacy between 1951 and 1978.
Now the building has undergone a IR£1.9m refit to provide modern office accommodation. The restoration was funded by the sale of adjacent gardens in Shrewsbury Road.
The PSI was founded in 1875 and is responsible for the education, examination and registration of Ireland's 3,600 pharmacists. The official opening was carried out by Mr John Bourke (president, PSI) and Mr Micheál Martin (Minister for Health and Children).
